Practicum Therapist

As a practicum therapist, Caitlin co-facilitates the Youth Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (DBT) group with Nicole Barton. She also offers individual therapy under the supervision of Jamie D. Brooks, M.Sc., C. Psych.

Background

Caitlin brings a unique blend of experience to her practice. Having spent years in customer service and management she developed a keen interest and understanding of human behaviour and interpersonal dynamics. Caitlin's passion for the intricacies of the human mind and the complexities of emotional well-being paired with the desire to help others have led her to pursue a career in psychotherapy.

 

She is completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.

Caitlin's approach to therapy is shaped by her commitment to holistic wellness. She believes in treating individuals as whole beings, recognizing the interplay between their mental, emotional, and physical health. Her empathetic and compassionate nature makes her a trusted partner in her clients' journey toward personal growth and emotional healing. Caitlin is trained in various evidence-based frameworks such as Person-Centered, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural, and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy,  and is interested in 'third wave' approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy.
